About Charity. . .

Who we are: Charity is a Southern Baptist Church and are part of the Michigan Baptist State Convention .

What to Expect: We are committed to clear and accurate communication of God’s word. Our music is more traditional but a splash of contemporary worship is beginning to be added. There is no dress code but you will find the seniors wear a suit and tie and the young adults jeans.

What we believe: We adhere to the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message of the SBC. Here is a snapshot of our beliefs.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. It is truth without error and the final authority for faith and life.

We believe in the triune God - God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit; Who is holy, loving, good, wise and just. Who has created all things by his word from nothing, who sustains, provides and rules all things; Who is our only redeemer and will judge all people.

We believe that God created all people, male and female, in his image and likeness for fellowship with Himself. We believe that he instituted marriage between man and woman only, and assigned humanity to carry out the creation mandate to multiple and tend the earth and all its inhabitants.

We believe that Adam sinned and by his descendants the entire human race was alienated from God.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is fully God, and became a man in order to become the perfect sacrifice for our sins; that He died on the cross, and rose again to defeat Satan and the grave; and returned to be with the Father, and sent the Holy Spirit to intercede for His people.

We believe that salvation exists only through repentance of sins and faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work. We believe that Christ calls, regenerates, justifies, forgives, sanctifies, keeps, and glorifies His people.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who has been sent to complete and perfect in us all the works Jesus did for us. We believe the Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates, sanctifies, gives gifts for ministry, and assures us of our salvation.

We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the bodily resurrection of believers, and the final judgment of the saved and unsaved. We believe in the eternal presence of the saved with Christ, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.

“It is our heartfelt mission at Charity Baptist Church to function through love, kindness, grace, and mercy as a Christian body in complete agreement with the Scriptures; glorifying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and making faithful, mature, relational disciples of Jesus Christ of those in Mecosta County, the state of Michigan and the uttermost parts of the earth.”
